Building a new website is not only exciting, but provides a great way to reinvent one's self without the clutter of the old site. So far, I love the Weebly platform, it is very user friendly and upgradeable and should grow with the business of exhibiting and teaching as I get further organized!
The studio is well underway - recent installation of a high-tech heat/cooling unit and new lighting have already made a HUGE difference - I actually like to be there! Now it's time to pull together a furniture arrangement to make the most of storage but leave lots of floor space for tables. I am looking forward to leaving the mat/framing stuff up instead of having to drag it back and forth.
Getting several pieces together for the grand opening of the Blue Moose Gallery here in Chewelah. How cool is that - a gallery here!! Scheduled for June 20, from 6-9... I have recognized it's time to change up paper sizes - all of my work is showing up in boring 1/2 sheet and full sheet rectangles - time to knock out some squares and strips!
The most exciting part of this week is packing for an acrylic workshop taught by the AMAZING Linda Kemp. An east coast Canadian artist/teacher, I jumped at the chance to work with her merely a half day drive from here in British Columbia at a mountain retreat - painting in a yurt:-) Check out her website: www.lindakemp.com
Enough for now - leave comments and suggestions if you like - I intend the blog to develop into ongoing discussions about art and painting - eventually photography when that portion of the site is developed. I would love to hear from you!
