Paint This - Focus on Light (Nov-Dec 2018)
Use a minimal transparent palette with clean/clear color, and build tonal contrast which will result in strong paintings filled with color and light. Glazing, color mixing on paper, with emphasis everyday subjects. Learn to capture sun-kissed photos for sketching or projection to set up your project.
Paints: Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Permanent Rose, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Aureolin Yellow, and Quinacridone Gold. Optional: French Ultramarine Blue, Winsor Green (Pthalo Green) and Winsor Violet (Doxazine)
Brushes: Synthetics will be fine. Large (at least size 16) and small (size 8 or 10) rounds that come to a good point when wet, 1/2" and 1" flat.
Arches 140 lb rough or cold-pressed Bright White Watercolor paper stretched on boards - quarter to half sheets - allow two full sheets for the workshop. Probably use several each workshop day - one for practice (not critical to be stretched), one for project.
And the rest of your watercolor setup!
