Urban Cityscapes - Manmade Scenes
June 12, 26 (9-1:00pm - Wednesday @Spokane)
In this two day workshop, we will be exploring the compositional strategies of assigning values to specific grounds and quick-sketching with paint to test your ideas. Although you are free to work with your palette either mixing your darks, or using pre-mixed darks, I will introduce the new Daniel Smith grays which are still not widely available (Spokane Art Supply has a good supply on sale right now).
Materials: Fresh Paint! Tubes will be necessary to get the quantity and saturation! Everything else should already be in your kits. For your reference, the pre-mixed grays darks I will be discussing and experimenting with are: Jane's Gray (Jane Blundell’s Ultramarine/Burnt Sienna pre-mix), Red Jasper, Gray Titanium, Alvaro's Fresco Gray, Alvaro's Caliente, Joseph Z's Neutral Gray, Joseph Z's Cool Gray, Joseph Z's Warm Gray. Do read labels and decide for yourself if these convenience paints would be a good addition to your palette.
Suitable for intermediate and beyond painters.
Classes in Chewelah are small, so we welcome new painters to join us as there is more individual time. Please contact me if you are interested in a beginning level class and live in the north county area.
