Paint This! $6/hr; $18 class day/$108 full series; $20 single day drop-in. Spokane Art Supply, Friday afternoons from 11am-2pm (Note: this is a time change!).
April 5 – The Grounds – Composition setups with fore, middle and background assigned values from light to dark. Will focus on landscapes for this class. Especially useful for plein air, urban/cityscape painting.
April 19 – Color Play - experimenting with different apps to emphasize color play or develop an alternative color scheme.
May 10 – Watercolor Unplugged (Day 1) – I will demonstrate several methods of alternative finishing and you will pick up your materials for Day 2 (May 24). I have ordered a cradle board and floater frame for all painters registered by April 15. All other finishing materials will be purchased for the group (Materials fee of approx. $35 per painter).
May 24 – Watercolor Unplugged (Day 1) – learn an alternative method of finishing your work without matting, glass, or even framing. I will demonstrate several methods with different materials. The class will work on a single method this day. Materials you will bring: small, finished watercolor painting on watercolor paper at least ¼” larger on all dimensions than 8”x10” (8 1/4" x 10 1/4"). Alternatively, you can observe and take notes without getting your materials until you see/understand the process.
June 21 – Tunnel of Light (day 1) – Underpaint with banks of light and dark, silhouetted forms on top to develop light paths. Paints: Naples Yellow (DS), Holbein Lavender
June 28 – Tunnel of Light (day 2) – finish.
Suitable for painters with some experience.
